This blog post was written for everyone who has ever come across my logo on my car, my facebook page or anywhere on a T-shirt, etc. and wondered, "What the heck is 'TEAM FLOURISH?" So here I am taking a minute to explain with love, this is who we are and what we do:
The company Beachbody, the MASTER of home fitness and nutrition, is split into two entities: Beachbody LLC and Team Beachbody. The latter, Team Beachbody is a network of independent business owners who are called "coaches" who are affiliated with the company and are available to support people and provide accountability and community for those who are trying to reach some health and fitness goal with Beachbody products. Some coaches just have the "Beachbody coach" title for the discount, it is a pretty sizable discount to order the products we love when we are signed up as a coach. Some coaches have had success and just love the company and dabble in helping their friends or family get fit along with them, sort of as a hobby. And some coaches decide to totally join forces with this powerhouse company and do the "coaching-thing" as a career. So you see, there are three different kinds of Beachbody coaches. It is an independent business model, so each coach can do whatever they want with it! The sky is truly the limit. How awesome is that?
Network marketing business models like this, get such a bad rap from many sources, and then from others (like great financial thinkers such as Robert Kiyosaki or Paul Zane Pilzer), network marketing also gets a mark as the most genius business model that has ever been created.
These are the bad connotations of network marketing that exist (in my opinion):
-When companies urge people to buy into a product line with a membership fee of over $50
-When companies urge people to sell to their family and friends right away to get the new member into profit quickly, thus building a shaky business (in my opinion)
-When companies require their members to distribute products and have stock in their homes, trunks or garages
-When companies require a minimum monthly sales amount in order to stay active with the company
-When companies urge you to have "parties," show presentations and expect you to collect sales by the end of the gathering (YUK!!!! Who likes going to those? No one.)
True. Some companies with the network marketing business model are run this way. Absolutely. And that sucks in my opinion. When I get invited to a party and then handed a form to fill out, you cannot lie and say that that is not always slightly uncomfortable. Thank GOD Beachbody and MY team DO NOT WORK THAT WAY.
-Beachbody does not require more than a $39.95 sign up fee to send you your coaching materials (that is a CRAZY LOW cost for all we are provided with this business opportunity) & we then pay a $16 monthly fee to be provided 4 free websites, tech support for us and all of our customers as well as total product shipping and distribution to everyone, handled by the company
-Beachbody does expect people in your life to see your transformation with the products you have been using (because they actually work), and yes, that is how the coaching opportunity naturally emerged, along with a supportive online community that organically grew from people using their products (the community and support and comradery is the BEST part about this company, hands down, plug into the good juju, it is good stuff)
-There is NO distribution with Beachbody coaches, the company provides both tech support for all customers as well as handles all shipping and distribution....I would NEVER work with a company that had me driving around making deliveries, or had me holding onto and needing to get rid of tons of product. Ew. Yuck, not for me
-There are ZERO minimum sales required to be an active Beachbody coach in their system, you simply have to be a valid product of the product who DOES consume and use Beachbody programs, duh....no brain-er there, I don't know too many people who would logically want to work with a company where they DON'T love the mission and/or products
-"Shake n' Shares" with Shakeology (the company's flagship nutritional drink) do exist in the community, where people host parties to share shakeology, but I NEVER, or suggest any coach make those kind of events pressure-filled or include any order forms, EVER. I just like people to be able to sample the product as much as possible
I am going through all these gory details to make sure that people know what we are and what we are NOT. What happens is, as I touched on earlier, when you start using Beachbody products, your whole life, body and mind changes and people start noticing. Then people ask you "what are you doing? You look amazing!" When you tell people what you are doing, they call and automatically order whatever it is you love, that is working for you. That is the heart of how it works and why they started rewarding people for sharing. And that is EXACTLY how I got into the business and became a team leader. I always say, it picked me, I never picked it. Just like when you refer someone to a good restaurant that you love and treats you well, people WILL go to it. So the business and team was created from the soul fact that I love wellness, I love nutrition, I want to share it with others. The end. Team Flourish is a group of people who want to share things that actually WORK, long term in fitness and wellness and help others find success of their own. That's all.
Well how do you make a living at it then?
That is where my team culture and business/marketing training comes in. My coach and I did not really have a sponsoring coach to support or train us, so we have trained ourselves. I came into the business not long after my coach did and we have sort of been learning this business together and on our own. We did have a distant connection to a big Beachbody team called "The Bombshell Dynasty" but we are not technically a tight part of that team. That team has been good to me! I have learned a lot! But I have never felt totally comfortable calling myself "a Bombshell." They are producing some of the top, most successful coaches in the business, so it is good to pay attention to what they do a lot of the time. The biggest take away I have from that team is from the leader, Lindsay Matway always promoting the art of NOT selling, but sharing, instead. I love that. And I have developed my business on the same thought forms. I love connecting with other people LIKE me and helping them by sharing with them what has WORKED for me and those on our team and also sharing what has NOT worked for us, to hopefully save people some time. This really is one honest and awesome way to make money. We are all also BIG fans of personal development reading and go strongly along with the thought forms of The Secret, both the book and movie, and the most successful leaders in the company lead their teams in this way, as do I, implementing good intentions, HUGE goals and moving forward with extreme action to go after, grab and accept the success we all so hugely deserve. (NEVER giving up) It works. Just plug into it and we will show you how to be your own, successful and wealthy leader!!!
Having a vision for wanting to help large amounts of people, having a good heart and knowing you can honestly make a dent in ending the trend of obesity, THAT is how you make a living at this business. We work when it is not convenient but as much as we possibly can, to help others succeed both in business and in wellness.
So again, WHO is Team Flourish?
Team Flourish is an amazing group of people who have big hearts and big dreams. My team was established all the way back in 2011! Can you believe it? I was not serious or passionate about the business until mid-2012, I guess because I didn't really believe in myself until then. But once I met the CEO of Beachbody and decided to really give this thing a go, I have been ALL IN ever since. My team was founded on the idea of FLOURISHING, flourishing in money, flourishing in wellness, flourishing in family, flourishing in fitness, flourishing in spirit and ALL areas of the GOOD life. I want my customers to flourish and thrive. I want my teammates to flourish and thrive. I work endlessly to help all of them do so. We are a team of over 200 customers in the family and over 30 coaches, and growing daily. My goal is to be one of the most successful teams of leaders in the wellness industry, not only in Beachbody but in all of fitness and nutrition. When I established this team, I non-stop started online marketing classes and wellness research to better serve my Flourish members. But I highly recommend all my coaches move onward and upward and create THEIR own teams! Build! Grow! Spread! Flourish! Love! Pay it forward. That is what we are ALL about.
Who can sign up for Team Flourish?
Anyone can. The only people who I remove from my team are those who cause trouble, drama or are in any way NOT supportive to any one member of the business, team/family. I have only had to remove one person from my team in three years of doing this business, I am happy to say. I will work for and train anyone who wants to be a part. I am a firm believer that the right people for the team will automatically stay and thrive, and those who are not a good fit will find their own path elsewhere.
We are a team of all-natural, fun loving wellness junkies. Some people are musicians, yoga instructors, teachers, nurses, stay at home BUSY Moms, active duty military, we are a totally intricate and gorgeous tapestry. I LOVE my team. We work tirelessly to help people and plan to retire at an early age in an amazing business we feel good about contributing to.
